About Me
I was born and raised in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In 2005, I graduated from Stevenson High School. In order to pursue my lifelong passion for teaching and working with children, I chose to attend Michigan State University for their exceptional College of Education. At MSU, I majored in Elementary Education with a Teaching Major in Integrated Social Studies. I graduated from Michigan State University in the spring of 2009 with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.
For my year long student teaching internship, I was placed at Red Cedar Elementary in East Lansing, Michigan. My placement was in a full day kindergarten classroom composed of 21 students (11 boys and 10 girls), including special needs students and English language learners (ELL). During my internship, I was responsible for the complete planning and execution of lessons in all curricular areas, communication with parents and staff, monitoring social and behavioral development, as well as running parent/teacher conferences.
This summer, I was hired for a first grade teaching position at Donley Elementary, in East Lansing Public Schools. I am really looking forward to the upcoming school year! I also began work on my Master's degree in Educational Technology, through Michigan State University.
